This very attractive book documents and celebrates the gift of 112 Chinese Scholar's Rocks from the Kemin Hu collection to the U.S. National Arboretum's National Bonsai and Penjing Museum. The museum's world-wide collection of viewing stones nearly doubles in size with this donation. An introductory chapter on the appeal of Chinese Scholar's Rocks is excellent and should be compulsory reading for all viewing stones enthusiasts. The photography is truly outstanding. Each of the donated stones are described. This is a valuable reference for this collection of modern Chinese stones.
