Wu Yee Sun developed and maintained one of the most important collections of penjing (artistic pot plants) in Hong Kong for several decades starting from the 1950s. This volume documents many of the nicer trees, miniature rock gardens, and ancient paintings of penjing. Approximately half of the artistic trees are illustrated in color, and the remaining photographs are black and white. There is a 43-page section at the end on Chinese miniature rock gardens and rockeries.

He donated many fine penjing to the U.S. National Arboretum in the USA and to the Montreal Botanical Garden.

This is an important work documenting Hong Kong style penjing in the late 20th century.
