Ginger Jiang shi


Although Ginger stones have a long history in Chinese pharmacy, they have only been used as viewing stones in recent years. The shapes of these stone closely resemble the ginger root in shape and color, hence, it’s name. They occur in loess soils and are red calcareous concretions composed primarily of calcite, quartz, and clay minerals may contain many other secondary minerals. They are found in several provinces including Jiangsu, Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, and the prefecture-level city of Xingtai.
