Kun Stones are one of China’s four historically famous stones along with Taihu, Lingbi, and Ying; however, quality Kun stones are rarely seen outside China due to their rarity. They originate in Jiangsu province and are mined from the earth. After cleaning, they are typically pure white to pale yellow, soft, with numerous crevices, holes or thin overlapping small plates. They are fragile and break easily.
