These cobbles from the seashore and shallow coastal waters at Nantian in Eastern Taiwan sometimes have beautiful mineral deposits that resemble birds in flight or convey the feeling of movement. While the cobbles are plentiful, the ones with symbolic calcite or quartz inclusions are rare. Nantian stones are highly sought after by collectors which, in turn, affects their price.
