Peony stones are a rare type of ancient volcanic rock that occurs in Luoyang in Henan province. The matrix stone is hard and has a grayish green color with numerous, flower-like clusters or formations of tectosilicate minerals within the feldspar family. Unpolished stone have a dull finish, whereas polished specimens have an elegant appearance.
